The Virtual Endless, as wise as they are Endless which allows them to heavily augment and optimise the ships they utilise in reconnaissance as well as combat scenarios.

Details;

Virtual Endless have a unique Hero ship hull, however it's slightly more expensive to upgrade as it's so incredibly stylish and has possibly higher resistance / damage or an extra slot or two which may have module X placed in them.

Please? Or at least 6 months after release in an expansion when the Virtual Endless can be fleshed out slightly more-- or something?

Actually, I think that devs already have something like that in plans.

Xml files in client include a line about some 'Quest Hero Endless'.
And this doesn't feel like a surprize - Amplitude Studios usually prepare something for Endless Day related to, ehm, Endless.

[spoiler]I was well excited when I received a Virtual Endless Hero from a quest, I was pleasantly surprised. It used default flag ship skin though.[/spoiler]

Would just be nice if they can have a Virtual Endless unique skin.
