With the addition of the Riftborn i believe some Heroes should come with a hero ship that fits their faction. This is because I was playing as Riftborn and got a hero(also Riftborn) and they had that same ship as all the other heroes.

Maybe not every hero deserves a special ship but Riftborn should have one I believe and maybe even some special heroes from the other factions also.

Out of Vision

The OUT OF VISION status is given by the dev team to ideas that are not compatible with their vision of the game or technically not feasible.

This decision doesn't mesh with the underlying design of Hero ships. You'll learn more on why Heroes use Academy ships once the backstory (we also use the term metaplot) is fully implemented.

I totally agree, it would definitely add some character to the heroes, something to differentiate them a little more.

I believe that instead of different hero ships based on class, the heroes from major factions should have a "Hero ship" for them, while minor factions can use the current models.

I originally asked this question way back in update 1. I was told the effort of creating, and animating the additional ships would be a hassle not worth the effort, specifically considering it would be mostly cosmetic. While i am with the community on this one, i would love to see faction specific hulls, what i would prefer over this is heroes with larger weight classes than small. I want a mechanic where you can upgrade the ship of the hero, likely tied to its skill level.

Just my thoughts.

I like this idea. It's the same thing I thought so the first time I started the game. I know you probably would be a hell of modeling and animation, and would have only an aesthetic value but, in my opinion, would be a great added value to the depth of the atmosphere in the game.

Wanting to be more detailed believe it would be just great to be able to have the ships of the heroes divided not only by race but also class. Maybe you are having an archetype like all the classes for each race, but vary from a small superstructure added (or removed) based on hero class.

WatThaFak? Out of vision? The academy of heroes has no sense, you know? this is the galactic war, why is there an heroes academy? Sounds like a tale for children.

If that is so, then I dont need special ships, option to assign hero to one ship of my faction would totally suffice. I hate the heroes as they are. Heroes in Endless Legend were nice and unique. These are all the same just with different portraits. That is just plain boring and looks so much out of place.

When I first discovered that heroes have their own ships, I was amazed by the idea. When I learned that all those ships, regardless of the race, are 'generic'-looking, I thought "Uh, okay, early access issues. Vodyani with their distinctive aesthetics and outstanding ship design surely can't have an old hunk of junk as their leader flagship". Oh, how wrong I was... This, in all honesty, is completely "out of vision" to my eye.

The developers say that hero ships are all the same because they belong to the "academy" and have nothing to do with the faction of the players. But this is silly, because the heroes participate in the wars and politics of each empire.

We are told that the heroes belong to one faction: the academy. But it is false. Heroes are very involved in our empire, they are not mere mercenaries, they are politicians and leaders as well.

It does not make sense that all hero ships are the same.

Except that it makes perfect sense. Every hero you encounter throughout the game is, in some way, an outcast, a peculiarity... whether it be an overly militant tree or a bug that is too smart for its own good. They are not tied to any species or empire and can be sold and hired freely. No matter how many turns they stay with an empire, they are not part of it... They are mercenaries, contractors hired out from the academy. Their choice of ships is a clear way of showing that above all else, their loyalty is to the academy and its leader.

Very well. If that is true, why can heroes represent our empire's political parties? Why is the initial hero of each game of our own race? Why these "mercenaries" can hold such important positions within our army or government?

And the most absurd of all: Why in the academy quest, our heroes will continue to obey us even if we decide to go against that same academy?

The lore says that heroes are mercenaries, but it's a lie. Heroes are, in fact, members loyal to our empire.
