So to clarify you want more unique research added to the tech tree based off each faction that only they can use?

Sounds good to me, though you do already get faction specific buildings from quests, maybe add a few extras to the tech trees I guess?

Yes that is the idead. I think it is kind of strange that all factions use exactly the same tech´s. 

A fifth tree would be a great opportunity to change the playstyle.

jep but I talk about a fifth tree inside the Tech-Tree to make your reasearch more unique.
