What is the Name of this Academy Flagship?

Reply

Just yesterday, we wrapped up our vote on the biography of the Remnant hero who joined the Nakalim. Today, we want to turn our attention back to most influential organisation of heroes in the galaxy: The Academy.

In the Celestial Worlds DLC, we have learned a little bit about the power structures in the academy and its leaders. The Mezari captain Chloris, who served as a military leader during Isyander’s rebellion, has since become one of the foremost experts on the Endless and is in charge of the Academy’s vast stores of knowledge. Powerful leaders like her command powerful assets, including flagships whose names are known throughout the galaxy.

What would a Mezari commander fascinated by the Endless call their flagship?

What would you name your own flagship in the Endless universe?

Vanguard of Knowledge wouldn't be too bad either since Chloris is a foremost expert on the Endless.

So the academy is going to have fleets on the map.It always seemed a bit odd having all the lore with then being no actual influence. My hope is a lost end game threat appears as most end games end up pretty dull.

You are mistaking released Celestial Worlds DLC for future DLC in question.

But I like how casually they dropped the new race would be called Nakalim without any fanfare. :)

Considering that it was phrased as a Mezari based name I had to go with Warden of Knowledge. Based on what we have seen from the Mezari I don't feel that the other two fit somehow. Honestly though, Warden sounds more like a Vaulter name but I find it somewhat fitting.

Warden can mean any of the following things:

  1. one having care or charge of something guardian, keeper
  2. a person responsible for the supervision of a particular place or thing or for ensuring that regulations associated with it are obeyed.
  3. the governor of a town, district, or fortress
  4. the head of certain schools, colleges, or other institutions. (specific to British culture I believe)
  5. one of two ranking lay officers of an Episcopal parish

I like the multiple interpretive meanings these lend themselves to honestly.

To add on to that, considering the race has a proclivity for knowledge....
As a personal opinion that Warden of Knowledge would fit better with their personalities instead of some hard to pronounce name with fanfare attached, because in their eyes the ship's name spoken in various Alien languages has its own unique name.

Personally I like Provost, but I have also spent my entire adult life answering to provosts and deans.

New DLC faction, apparently. It's mentioned second vote in the row.

Seneschal of the Archives sounds very mighty and grand, which I feel a flagship of the Academy should be. Quaestor of the Tabernacle isn't bad either but as someone else mentioned, the Seneschal feels more "grand religious ship".

Warden of Knowledge feels very meh and simple, it loses that grand feeling I think Isyander's goal and the Academy is about, which is "bigger than life" ambition or even bigger than the galaxy itself. Too bad it seems to be clearly the winning one.

Hoping for this. I mentioned it in a prior post about how annoying it is of how big a deal the Academy is and yet they don't actually DO anything.

Warden of Knowledge because Mezari are all 'bout dat knowledge.

Sure, why not? Sounds like a good lore choice.

Seneschal has a much deeper meaning, but Warden of Knowledge is more commercially audible.

All names are great, but I went with Seneschal. I just love that word.

As for how I'd name a ship of mine, maybe something like Vestige of Azkar.

I don't know, but it feels humble and archaic at the same time to me.
