Hello everyone,

We worked hard on the add-on, making sure that all players would be pleased with it. We were of course the first ones to be sad to see that the save backward incompatibility made some people angry. We were super excited to bring new content to the game as the whole idea is to work together towards a better game, not frustrate players.

The whole team started working on a fix the very following morning the add-on was live, when we saw first players' reactions. We're gamers and can understand their frustration. Like for a lot of things in life, when you're too into a project, some elements might be forgotten on the way, usually some obvious ones. As said before, we already had this process from Beta to Release and had no issues, plus when we announced it on the release notes, no one came to tell us it will be a problem, so we didn't predict such a reaction.

We worked on the best fix possible as soon as possible, and we're already looking into new ways to get information to players for upcoming updates. Unfortunately, one thing that is sure, is that if we want to improve the core gameplay of the game, instead of just adding in a new galaxy or a new ship skin, we will have to go through future imperfect backward compatibility issues again, but all in all it's to make Endless Space a better game.

Here's a link to Lt_Miles' release note.

The fix should be available within the next hour
