Not seeing it.

A pity.

My experience is that the AI still builds tons of ships they just put them all into one fleet until it fills up then start putting them in another. Before you'd have like 15 single ship fleets per system (that always retreated) now you have have 3 or 4 (or more) full fleets per system (that at least try to fight back most of the time). The AI still technically spams ship building, they just use less fleets now.

You may not call this a solution, but it's better than before.

You're right, I may not call this a solution.

The positive thing I noticed is the AI will actually attack with its ships. There was nothing wrong with the AI building lots of ships (before or now); it's just that it wouldn't risk losing them.

Yes, actually if you fall behind them in military forces, they will declare war on you for being so weak, introduced back some need to balance construction if you want to stay at peace, much welcomed. Not possible anymore to stay half game without building a decent defense army at least.

Still, although vastly superior in military power at some point of the game, i still found their attack to be soft. I was attacked from 2 sides by the # 1 and 2, being #6 in score. They could have wiped me out easily and I was able to stop their progress and reverse it by just switching completely to production of warships (long range bullets glass cannons) and 1 war hero. That was tense and exciting, but all the time I was wondering "when are all those enemy ships going to arrive and massacre me?" They kept sending a fraction of them, one or two fleets at a time. 50 turns later, I'm still #6 but more confortable now and preparing to invade one of them.

What bothers me the most is the invasion ship spam (in Disharmony at least). The AI tends to have lots of fleets with no actual weapons, just siege modules to invade star systems, protected by 2-3 normal fleets. And since system defenses can get so strong now it kinda has to do that too.

I would. it works quite well. The enemy has a respectable fleet, and so do you. (you do build more than 1 fleet, yes?)

auto combat is a wonderful thing.

the big issue I have is that it doesn't remember your card selection for auto combat
