I know in endless legends strategic resources like glass steel get used up if you modify a unit with a weapon or armor that uses glass steel, does the same apply to endless space? Another question I have is how does the luxury resources work in this game?

I think the strategic resources in this game work like a kind of cap to how many you can use at once?

If you colonize a planet that has a luxury resource you get that resource, yes? Well, maybe. You also have to research whatever is necessary to use that resource. It will say what you need on the planet screen. (Or is it the system screen?)

Once you have access to a strategic resource, you have an unlimited supply (assuming the source system isn't blockaded). Getting more resources up to four reduces the cost of any component that requires that resource.
