Are cravers the toughest AI bar none?

They have more command points then anybody.. + they start with that locust thing.. they are super powerful!



I wanted to test my metal against the toughest game I could think of so I became harmony (because they have no heroes that makes them tougher! and they can't upgrade ships :rollsmiley: smile If I had a hero and got "emergency shelter" I could kick major ass with no loss's to boot!



Then I took every single negative there is.. aka -168 points.. yah I had 3 damn command points when I started.. yah.. I had eternal war! (which would keep me from tech trading with the AI and stealing every tech with no consequences!)



And then on top of all that.. I put not 1.. but 2 cravers in the game.. I totally started next to one of those cravers and I ran circles around that one.. even though they had powerful ships.. none of them were able to get me.. but meanwhile my production and research was shit! (now maybe I should have tried to take out craver #1 in turn 6-10 maybe? but basically while I kept him from landing any more planets..) what happened was by turn 80.. I'd just barely gotten 2nd upgrade kinetic.. and I only had 10 damn command points (that was all that was feasible) and craver #2 came in with 2000 point ships to my 1000 10 command point ships.. and he sat on every one of my planets and starved or killed me.. probably by turn 90 or 100 I didn't wait around.. smiley: sarcastic



Anyway this is supposed to be about cravers but I felt like biitching after my startling defeat.. cause basically if you are negative -168 points.. I'm not sure the game is winnable? (military or otherwise) which is a good thing! smiley: wink

-168 points is not even close to every negative there is. IIRC its closer to -240something

Note that some negatives are mutually exclusive and have different values

harmony is probably unable to take the dust and her related penalties though.



Also, locust is not that good, it gives a small boost early for a very short time when it matters very little (just right after colonization matters little) and then it becomes a penalty when it matters most (mature colony, overharvested).



Also, the harmony might lack heroes and upgrading, but they have plenty to compensate for it
