I've always enjoyed ES, but a big issue I've always had is that ES tends to have some... severe balance issues. Largely due to high level admirals rendering your fleet pretty much invulnerable, and some weapons just being blatantly superior to others. Are there any mods that would balance the game to be a bit more enjoyable? Especially in the late game as a level 20 admiral can just attack through the entire opposing army and never take one dent of damage. Or maybe have any patches touched on these issues in the last 1.5 or so years?

The economy gets out of control mid to late game.Too many ships and instant buying.
