Never heard of these forums, but the number of thread views looks quite high.

Once pre-order becomes available we should update all the threads we've started on different forums!

Are there actually any plans for Amplitude Studios to attend a gaming event? Gamescom in Cologne, Germany is not that far from Paris, and does Paris not have its own (smaller) gaming conventions as well? I reckon this is something that could deepen the relationship with the community as people would get to meet some of the AS guys in person and also attract new people since those kind of events are being visited by hundreds of thousands of gamers and thousands of journalists. It does not have to be something like E3, which is rather journalism-oriented and also far away, which, I guess, might be a little expensive for a smaller company like Amplitude.

I am quite unsure on how this forums work (couldn't even find a search feature to look for an Endless Space thread).

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Update on the topics I started: positive feedback on both the Total War Center and the Kerberos Forums, very negative people on the Nexus. It's kind of a grouchy forum, like all the users waking up with a bad hangover.

You can only search if you're a registered member which costs $10.

A couple of people have just pre-ordered and are planning to post first impressions in the Steam megathread here if you're interested in the feedback. (Worth saying in advance it can be a highly irreverent place, so don't take anything too seriously).

Edit:

Your obsession with cookies is duly noted, but please think of diversity where precious food is concerned. You can't feed them the same all day. They'd probably get mad.

No, you can give them chocolate cookies, then cookies with marmelade topping, sugar coated cookies, cookies with coconut rasps, cookies with candid fruit slices for good measure and some vitamines, shortbread cookies, brownies, cookies with smarties, gingerbread men, aachener printen, wafers, tea biscuits and butter cookies...

If they can move after such a feast, you can try and chain them (if chains still fit). XD

I plan to start creating Endless Space threads in other game forums (will ask friends to do the same) to attract more people to the game, I know Amplitude has its own PR, advertisement etc. but we as a community can spread the word too. ES is going to be great and the more people find out about it the better

We love that!

Skamaks isn't around right now, but he was working on some trailers ( though maybe they were top secret -- he's a very cagey guy ). But this is an excellent idea ( like I would say anything else! ) and we'll get back to you ASAP on this.

Would you mind providing a link to that german forum? I might get involved there myself.

Is anybody here familiar with the website TV Tropes? If yes, I'm thinking about starting a Trope page for ES to help spread the work, but I'm not really sure where to start.

Awesome, those trailers will be used to update said threads and get even more people interested.

A trailer video that includes more gameplay footage and less Games2Gether coverage would be a good idea. The existing trailer only has around 40 seconds of game coverage. I have the feeling this game has a lot of potential, but I got that impression after reading quite a bit of material on the forums and interviews. Even with what I know, I still feel like I don't REALLY know a lot about the game or its mechanics. I do feel like a dev video or a more indepth trailer showing some of the mechanics would go along way toward spreading interest. A lot of people I'm hearing from aren't sure what to make of some of the in-game systems right now, including how combat is going to really work.
