Ive got the research needed for trade routes and done the improvement on a few systems, it says trade routes 0/3 or 0/1 or whatever on the top right of the solar system screen but how do i actually make a trade route between systems?

I think you need a connection to another race/an AI player you've got a peace treaty with.

Bluffed me at the beginning too, but trade routes only work with another player with whom you are at least in peace (not sure whether you need more than peace, would have to check it) ... and of course, not having to suffer a blockade at one end or the other.

ah right thats a bit of a shame, i was hoping trade routes between your systems would provide bonuses and such. Thanks anyway!

Trade routes work through the system you own, atleast i think they do since i checked some of my systems and found they had created trade routes for dust between them.
