Hello everyone,

I just got the game yesterday and first I'd like to congratulate you for this alpha which works flawlessly (at least up to a bit less than 2 hours).

One feature missed in my opinion : when systems have luxury or strategic resources white icons are shown regardless if these resources are exploited or not. It would very helpful to have coloured icons (the colour depending of the bonuses given by the resource) when the resources are actually exploited.

Resources that can be exploited have purple icons. Resources you know about but cannot exploit yet stay white. If you mean it changing colour once it is actually being exploited compared to being exploitable. then a colour change for those could be useful for sure.

Sorry if i have misunderstood at all smiley: smile.

edit: Thanks for the correction Sharidann smiley: biggrin

Not exactly MT4K

White = Luxury resources

Purple = Strategic resources

No change of colour once you begin to exploit them.

You can ALWAYS see luxury resources but they are "greyed". Strategic resources are revealed after researching a technology needing that resource. smiley: smile

I missed the fact that strategic resources were in purple (I had not the time to discover any I guess). However, it is still the same problem for strategic resources you can't distinguish, with only a glance at the system, which resources are actually being exploited and which are exploitable.

Maybe they can make resources being exploited have a little box around them or something. nothing too drastic needed.

Just to say that I agree with that (no intent to flood). An alpha that looks almost like a retail version (I had that feeling)... very nice interface (quite intuitive already, since I skipped tutorial and found myself like at home pretty fast, though I am a very experienced 4X gamer but still I believe the UI designers and devs are awesome) that will certainly be improved (a few details, I guess) since the policy here seems to be "listen to your users from the very beginning".

Actually the strategic or luxury resources appear greyed on your planets (system interface) and stars systems (galactic map) , they only become purple or white if you have the appropriate technology to "unlock" them. So to see them in the right color, you need to have scouted the star and have the appropriate tech.

The difference between grey and white seemed to subtle for me and also what I wanted was a difference between exploitable and exploited resources.
