Cheating (buggy?) AI

I am at war with Sophons. They have only 2 systems (one of which they don't even own half the time) and are dead last by most parameters in the game. Yet their military is in the first place. With meager resources they manage to produce almost the same ammount of ships as my empire, which is in the first place in everything but the military (and has around ten systems, all but two producing ships). I barely manage to hold them off. The difficulty is easy.

thats a good question, i think sophons also get a boon to production as well from racial traits however i may be mistaken about that,.

I have seen this too. Also, the AI seems to be able to move during my turns, so while you have them cornered in a system and move in for the kill, suddenly they move to the system you just came from. Tiny bit annoying, but I'll live.

No, they have a bonus to science and ship speed. But even if they did have a bonus to production, it's only one planet. And the game itself rates them last on the FIDS rating. They should not be able to spawn an almost infinite stream of ships from their capital.

i didnt mean they have a bonus to production i believe they have an anti bonus to production, but i dont remember as of now since i cant look while at work.



i hope there is a tech that allows 2 ships to be built at once at some point. my home system is my fastes ship building system and it takes 3 turns to create a single destroyer so to have 4 from that system thats 12 turns, that is a long time while at war.

That's not a problem of being unable to built two things at a time. That's just you having low production. And of course there are technologies and buildings that increase production. But if you could produce 4 big ships in a turn, that would break the game. This is what the AI is doing right now.



Funny thing is, I started the game at easy difficulty to avoid the AI spam and build/research things at my own pace. And here I am, fighting the thing I was trying to avoid.
