Oddity or by design?

I've noticed what I call an oddity that may be by design, but I would like input from others one way or the other.

There are many occasions that after I press the end of turn button an enemy fleet will arrive in one of my systems, but at the beginning of my turn when I attempt to engage that fleet they move again like their turn wasn't actually over. This usually results in me having to chase a fleet all over my empire. Should enemy units have more movement left after my turn begins?

Yea, it's kind of unfair. Don't like the simultaneous turn, makes catching scouts fluttering through your systems a complete PITA.

Yeah, Its really annoying. You may have your enemy cornered and when you move in for the kill... they sneak back the way you just came from. smiley: stickouttongue

As far as I've read it on some bug report threads, the devs are currently looking into this.

In singleplayer, the design goal was to have the AI move at the beginning of the players turn and then let the player do whatever he wants to do without moving anymore.

It would be nice if you could set a fleet as a system defense and set what factions it should auto-engage (you can still choose to solve the battle automatically or manually).
