If I buy copies for my mates via Steam do I get the G2G points or do they?

I'm sure I can get them to "spend" them on multiplayer, but I like to be more convinced than that ;-).

I'm pretty sure that the points go to whoever enters the CD Key.

you can only go to 1000 points right now. you get 100 starting an account, but you enter the key it goes to 1000 even though it should be 1100. and anyway if you buy it and gift it to them they get the cd-key

You can always ask them for their CD key once they get the game. From there you just enter the CD key on your account.

Ahh well, will just have to "convince" them to deploy their points in the direction of MP :-).

It's not going to do you any good. The G2G *SETS* you to that amount, it does not grant you +500 or +1000.

If you've registered, you are set to 100.

Preorder admiral, you are set to 500.

Preorder emperor, you are set to 1000.

Enter as many codes as you want (if you can even enter more than 1) you're still going to be set to 1000.

Otherwise someone could be plucking down large amounts of cash and significantly altering the vote.

I'm not looking to abuse, or buy, the "system", I'm just looking forwards to playing multiplayer. Until then I will continue to get my arse handed to me by the AI :-).
