I started playing the game, bypassing the tutorial as always, and floundering around learning the ropes. Game seemed really interesting despite me not understanding a good chunk of it (yes, I was a couple beers into it by now), but I quickly grasped the basics. Fast forward a couple of hours, I finally got the courage to attack another faction, on easy settings of course, and holy $%#@. The combat in this game is something I have not seen in any other game. It's like a combination of Battlestar Galactica (the series) meets umm...nerdy space game for lack of a better comparison. I just sat back and watched as I got destroyed horribly, but it was so fun to watch. Now that I am starting to understand it better though, I get pretty involved in combat, and like it even more.



My only complaint is that I somehow lost like 5 hours of time in real life, and did not even notice. So at least from my noob experience, this game is a real winner and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

I must admit, I too am extremely impressed with the alpha thus far.

Tech tree's are large and fluid, ship design is good.... Even the UI is excellent!



Once we get economy and diplomacy running properly this will be amazing.



Must admit, this in Alpha is doing much better than certain other space 4x games.... 7 months after going gold..... (must resist naming it lol)...
