On probably my 12th or 13th restart. Everytime I make it a bit further. But eventually it always ends with me being overun. No matter how well my systems get built I just cannot keep up with the AI ship production. My best game I was killing 8 ships for every 1 that I lost roughly but it seemed the AI kept spitting at least 2 cruisers a round at me.



Best I have managed so far is turn 180-200 something and surviving a 3 front war till the 4rth AI jumped in to kill me also. I had 7 full fleets of 2 Cruisers and 3 destoyers, and two planets doing nothing but building a replacement every 2-4 turns depending on the ship size. Destroyed a ridiculous number of ships. And yet the computer still just sent so many fleets at me. Between attrition and to many targets to try to inderdict, I eventually get overrun everytime.

Is it possible because the AI made alot of planets production wise faster so they can build and pump ships fast?

What difficulty level are you playing ?



In my experience, when you begin to be at war, try to hit one enemy hard and to conquer him fast. If you give him too much time, he indeed builds up enough ships to give you the mother of all headaches.
