I've been studying all the information from steam and the website and i'm still unsure of one aspect. I'm a veteran space sim player and i originated from MOO2 roots, but i discovered Sword Of The Stars and fell in love with being able to customize the visual design of ships. Is Endless Space going to support this approach to ship designs? will i be able to exchange parts and the overall look of the ships, or is it going for the MOO2 approach where you have a bunch of set ships already designed and we can modify what equipment it has and weapons it has but to no visual change to the ship?

I'm afraid that you'll be a little disappointed about that, the only customization is to select between different kind of equipments (shields, beams, missiles) changin just a bit the skin, but not too much...

Equipment-only for now. I really do hope that at some point we will be able to customize the way the ships look as well though. That would be awesome and definitely move things up a level.
