Trade System?

Now I haven't had too much experience with the trade system ( I understand it's an Alpha, don't worry! =D)

I'm pretty sure this topic has been posted before but I can't seem to find the thread (Sorry!)



I understand that you don't set the trade yourself,

I'd like to see it more hands on (Galactic Civ style?)



Here are a few other ideas;



- Trade Hubs (have some upgrades that specialize a system to trade, or buildings like trade ports and planetside markets which can offer more routes?)

- Supply and Demand (I know this one's a bit strange but with some of the resources like Titanium - 70 and the like maybe when someone has a monopoly you could give the the opportunity to set special routes and prices for it?)

- Buyouts (If you trade enough with a system you could set up an office or the like or go for a buyout?)

- Merchant Fleets (Just an aesthetic touch, probably their ports and offices and the like added to?)

On the Merchant Fleets if an invading or blockading fleet is in the route it can steal the income from the fleets and destroy them to cost the sending and receiving empires...



That's all I can think of now

Interesting. I actually, in my first playthroughs, haven't made much use of trade routes. Hm...

I have yet to start trading. Exactly how does it start?

trade routes are created automatically between you and another empire you are at peace with. you can build improvements to give you extra trade routes on a system.

how about the idea of traderouts between own systems like seen in sword of stars and in adition a would really like to have more informations where my money, sorry dust, comes from and ultimatly where it goes.



the idea of a displayed path where the tradevessels are flying is kind of appealing, because it gives the opportunity to identify and protect the areas of space where your wealth comes from.

and another interesting idea, ist to station some of the combatfleet to act as guards for the traders, it would be an idea to use them in that way from the reserves they are "saved" before being assigned to a fleet.

Trade is mostly useles now.

It gives small amount of dust and keeping aliens happy is hard. Soon they will be offenced by you military power expansion close borders etc and go for war where it is almost impossible to make peace with them. Also cost of trade connections(imporvments) are rather high compared to income.

I dont really see much sense to invest in this.

If there will be trade beetwen your colonies(with much more profitable trade with alien colonies) it will be ok but now it is just meh.
