Agree, Hostile notification should be alerted, just take a look at how Starcraft2 is doing it, its perfect. Captures players attention and there is no chance you can miss it.

Very subtle indeed.

Also, in an unrelated topic, your homeworld has a nice crown symbol over the population number. (same goes for the AIs)

There seems to be some kind of mechanic implemented for that, yet. It is just very subtle. In your empire screen your system symbols on the left can be white/green/red. White is normal, green is defended by one of your fleets and red is actually blockaded.

Helped me a lot, later on, but it took eons to find that out.

+1 for alerts of enemy in systems, enemy enroute to systels and to move ended.

Also would be nice to have a "tactical" view of the various fleet with the pathof where they are going all at once smiley: biggrin

Hmm that would still mean when you have a large number of systems that you would have to every turn scroll through the list of system sin the empire management screen. a small bubble above the end turn button would be far more efficient i think smiley: biggrin

In the empire management screen you can see the threatened systems : they are in red.

Absolutely agreed. Sometimes it's just pure luck you spot a pirate or enemy fleet. Notifications are a must imo. Perhaps even with a button to locate said threats on the galaxy

Alerts are great, also would be nice to get a notification when your fleet arrives. Normaly my colony ship sits 2-6 turns before i remember it.

Thinking of this. Maybe in the fleet management screen they can have a way to i dunno double click a fleet to centre your view on it. (never tried so not sure if this actually already happens or not.

i think that will be great, if you will be alerted only in case, if your "radar" technology will be able to track enemy..in this case every time, when enemy reach range of your radars, you will be notified (let's say 3 turns before arrive) and if enemy has good camoflage, you will be ntified 1-2 turns before or you will be notofied after their arrival (i know, that devs want they game "own", but again - in Moo2 this was done perfectly)

First let me say this: this game has a lot of potential and is already very enjoyable to play. I haven't stumbled over many bugs so far, which is a very good sign.

Now I started in a constellation that had only me in it and no wormholes to the other constellation, that had the three AIs, which meant a lot of time fighting pirates and happily developing on my own. One thing that I really missed was a notification, that hostile fleets were in my systems. Pirates would show up from nowhere and suddenly my colonizer was gone, or I had systems blockaded for multiple turns, just because I didn't see the pirates for a while.

Even more problematic was when I finally encountered the AIs in turn 250 or so. I still couldn't see any of their systems, but somehow they saw me and I bought a couple of systems from them using diplomacy. Hostilities erupted shortly afterwards and when I declared war, all hell broke loose understandably. Now I had hostile fleets in multiple systems, but no real notification in which ones. I had to check the map each turn, just so I wouldn't miss anything.

Also some kind of indication that hostile fleets were inbound, but not yet present would be very nice, so you have some warning and can begin fleet movements to meet the threat.

Agreed. It would also be nice to see notifications that your own fleets have reached a destination. Especially Colony ships.

Maybe also some way to tell if pirates are "on their way". Seems like they always just pop up in the middle of a star system, which seems like pretty weak gameplay.

I can see this being useful but so far i haven't played a game past four systems on the same view screen at on time :P

I agree, even mentioned it in another thread.

I like the idea of linking it to scanner technology aswell

+ 1 from me.

Maybe with an System Upgrade (e.g. Deep Space Scanners) or an aditional Tech (e.g. Espionage) to unlock it?

That is something I missed too, yes. Especially with the darker colours of the pirate ships, it's sometimes very hard to notice that anything is happening at all.
