I recently encountered a Small Arid planet that was a Garden of Eden. To me it seems these two things are contradictory. Does anyone else think this should be fixed?

I don't know. On one hand, it mixes things up, and almost anything is possible in the universe, anyway. On the other, it could seem contradictory, and could take away realism of the game from some people.

Lol. I've found gas giants and Asterioids with the trait.

Haha, me too. I have a little fun trying to imagine what property would make the world fitting for the "Garden of Eden" anomaly. For instance, maybe the asteroids are famous for remarkably beautiful glittering gems that make it worth the stay. Or perhaps the gas giant's atmosphere has a rare gas with geriatric properties.

Maybe the "Garden of Eden" flavor text could be expanded to include things like this. Alternatively, a new anomaly called "Unique Beauty", or somesuch could be added for these not-quite-fitting locales, and GoE could be more restricted.

I wouldn't like it to go away completely on these worlds....I like when it offsets the cost of living there.

One man's Eden is another man's Purgatory. Maybe there used to be a bunch of lizardfolk on that planet that really enjoyed the dry air and delicious local fauna?

It's not really harder to believe than a space faring race that somehow never figured out how to farm crops or raise cattle.

I suppose they are referred to as anomalies for a good reason.

Also the traits are quite possibly there so that you have the option of transforming the planet later on while still having the negatives of the planet type itself.

Also, Ice10 on a lava planet is much more bizarre.

Honestly with how different each race is i could see each having a different idea what a Garden of Eden would be so maybe it should just be switched to randomly benefit a certain race and wont benefit you if your not playing as them.

Which in turn would make those systems that didn't benefit you with their Garden a good bargaining chip when it came to getting something from another race.
