Why does the game end after 500 turns?

Like the title says, I wonder why this is forced.

If I want to play 1000 turns, that should be possible.

It doesn't seem like a lot of effort to just not have the cut-off time at 500 turns.

Why should there be?

Go to advanced options when creating the galaxy and disable the "Score" victory.

This is essentially "After X amount of turns, highest score wins"

Turn it off and the game plays until one of the other victories is achieved

As far as I know, the victory conditions cannot be ruled out, yet. That's hopefully part of the next alpha build.

Yeah, they will not be disabled if you click them off yet. That is the primary reason I stopped playing for now. Economic Victory always ended my games by around turn 175-200...hopefully the next Alpha build is not far off, or they can "hotfix" issues like this soon.

Agreed, would love to see that functionality soon. If anything I think it would compliment alpha giving players the opportunity to find what they find "a satisfying victory".

According to the latest news the next Alpha version should be coming the next week.

This has to be the biggest flaw of the alpha so far. I would love some huge battles that only take place late in the game, but I can't reach it because someone always gets a economic victory before it.



I also think that 300.000 Dust is a bit low for economic victory. I suggest turning it up to 1.000.000 Dust.

I ran into the economic victory problem myself. I was in the process of absolutely smashing the AI only to have them suddenly win due to economic victory. Their 300k dust was not very effective in blocking my missiles. Not sure what the solution is, but it seemed easier for them to do economic victory than it was to do a science victory.

The thing is, the Economic victory only requires someone to EARN 300,000 dust during the course of the game. That's quite different from having to HAVE 300,000 dust in order to win the game. I have gotten the economic victory (and lost to one, as well) when I only had like 40,000 dust because I was frequently spending it. I think being required to save up to win should be the victory condition

Is there any way to define what X is? Can I make a game that will stop and score everyone after 1000 turns, or 30 turns, or however many I want?
