Actually, when a game is going to be released on Steam, an official group is automatically created for the Steam community.

Now that there's an actual official steam group. What's going to happen to the one Alderbranch set up before? Is it worth staying part of that group if it isn't the official one? What does a steam group is made for?

It's just an easy way for you to find other people who play the same game. Makes it easier to set up multiplayers games as well if you find people in the group chats or something.
