Population query, slightly pointless curiosity

The amount of population on a planet is given by population points

is there any scrawled down note on a devs pad somewhere on roughly what they stand for in terms of actual amount of people?

i am curious, how much say my 54 population system is in actual terms

In the future, people are like Titans from Greek myth. Your population of 54 is just 54. Good news though! At some point you get to battle Gods! Bad news... you lose.

My speculation has been 3-5 billion persons per population point. I got to that from comparing planet sizes to earth and taking into account that it's the future.

hahahahaha its all this dust affecting people

the colony ships must be a bit lonely, a several year/turn voyage to settle a new planet with only yourself for company lol
