Same thing for me: impossible to finish the invasion (and now to begin another on the enemy system next to it).

How can I detect (and fcking kill) those "sneaky" ship????

If you place a hero in one of your fleets you will see a noticeable change in the speed a system is taken. Especially if that hero is trained in melee.

Does the number of fleets you have positioned in a system affect timings?

I had 3 fleets of 7 ships each, and yet invasion time seemed no different than when i only had the one fleet

Hehehe.. Funny.

There are no invisible ships, so if nothing happens when you try to take a system it must be a bug.

Indeed Including an invasion fit ship or two in the fleet will make things much much faster.

You should be able to see it right next to your fleet in the system you are conquering. That is, if it is, it should be there. It could also be a bug.

How long should it take to conquer a system? I have had dozens of ships stationed on top of two hostile systems for dozens of turns and there has been no movement on the invasion bar. Meanwhile, the enemy have managed to pull more and more advanced fleets seemingly out of nowhere, wearing down my forces. In your experience, how long does it normally take to subdue an enemy system?

Note: These are established colonies with a large influence range, not outposts which I am able to capture in a couple turns.

They are sneaky.. They don't attack you either. So, you may never know they are there :P

That makes sense, although I never realized it until you pointed it out. Thanks Gordon. haha.

Be careful. If the AI manages to sneak a fleet into that system, without you noticing, your invasion will come to a halt. Happened to me, spent 10 turns or so doing absolutely nothing.

Depends on if you've devoted some of your fleet configuration to include invasion modules.

In my most recent game, a fleet I had just designed had 3-5 invasion mods each, and they would take over a planet in about 5 turns, give or take a few.
