Simple question

What do you normally do in your first 10 turns?

What tech do your research, ships do you build or expansions do you try and make?

Give a little step by step guide for others to examine (include the race you play as) smiley: smile

(edit: oops, thread title should be 'What are your first 10 turns?) As you wish! Nos

Move scout, build improvement, research relevant expansion techs, xenobiology if needed. End turn, End turn, End turn. Not much to do those first 10.

O.k then, maybe 10 turns was a bit limited, perhaps first 20 or 30 would be better.

I'm just curious to see if everyone follows the same standard template or if people are beginning to adapt tactics that allow for much greater growth than normally available

I usually just aim to get industry as high as I can, I research the first couple of techs that give to good industry build them. Then when I have scouted a few systems I look for the most common plannet types and research how to colonise it. I look to get industry high and then colonise as fast as I can.

colonize a system, get a starter tech from each tree, and start upgrading the home system with production

-First thing I do is check the heroes available. No administrator? Restart!

-If there's another habitable planet in the home system, I colonize it.

-Set the tax rate higher so you get at least 11 dust/turn. Do this for 2 turns so you can hire that hero, then crank it down until its either zero income or barely above.

-Send the scout to the nearest system.

-If there wasn't a 2nd planet to colonize in the home system, but I find a nearby star system I can colonize, and I have a 2nd administrator available, I'll leave the tax rate high so I can afford the 2nd guy.

-Research the first production tech

-Build the production exploit on my two planets

-Scout around and find the wormhole junctions and look for habitable or almost habitable (tundra, arid) planets with luxury resources or good perks, particularly happiness boosters

-Get the +25 production boost on the administrators asap. Followed by the +Food boosts when possible.

-Research the Tundra/Arid techs, then up to the first system happiness construction (infinite supermarkets)

-Build colony ships and colonize the entire constellation, but particularly the wormhole ends, first (They are the defense locations)
