Optimizing Tundra colonizing.

Just had to know what the optimal build for tundra was, using some basic stuff. Level 2 Industry (+3) and Food (+2) exploits, Heavy Isotope Refineries (HIR, +10, +1pp), and Sustainable Farms (+1pp). I assumed that pop growth happens at 10+20*pop food. Assumed the build happens in the order of FIDS gain, finish construction, then pop growth. Builds using the food exploit switch to the industry exploit once they have 6 pop and pop is capped at 6. Results are at turn 80. Good chance these assumptions are off, but they should be close enough to get the correct order of construction. Script is here if you want to mess with btw. If anyone finds any mistakes, let me know.

FE = food exploit, IE = Industry Exploit, HIR = Heavy Isotope Refineries, SF = Sustainable farms.

All numbers are net industry at turn 80.

IE, HIR, SF = 1704

IE, SF, HIR = 1648

FE, HIR, SF, IE = 1625

FE, SF, HIR, IE = 1476

To me the 3rd one is the clear winner, since FE first reaches 6 pop at about turn 42, instead of turn 78 for IE. FE first also generates more science and dust due to faster pop. Would also be better for colonizing other planets in the system, once again due to more food/pop. So it seems even if you want lots of industry, going FE first until max pop is better in the long run.

Some more results at turn 40. (same builds)

Industry:359

Industry:273

Industry:105

Industry:56

So if you're really desperate for 2-3 extra ships, going a IE, followed by HIR could help out.

dont forget to add colony rights it boosts F.I.D.S exponentially

a 10% jump and a administrative hero works wonders

but nice find its really going to help me out alot

Was trying to keep it simple. One could easily make this very complicated very fast. ;]

This is an excellent analysis. I typically use food exploits early on to foster pop growth but I'll have to rethink my build order
