I cannot be absolutely sure that I didnt select the wrong fleet but a couple of times last night I meant to attack with 1 x 11 ship fleet (mix of destroyers and cruisers beam and torps) against an AI fleet of 7 ships, only to find that I had only the 7 cruisers during the fight.



Is this normal (have I missed anything important point)?

There cannot be more ships involved in a fight then you have a command limit for, no matter how many ships are present (The AI isn't always bothered by this but Human players are .



Wait I seem to have missed a point here:

The 1x11 does that mean the fleet had 11 ships or did it just use 11 command points (dont forget cruisers use 2 like battleships).

or does 1x11 mean 11 fleets with 1 ship in them all selected and then clicked on fight (never tried that)

What kind of configuration are you playing the game on? If you have set the options in graphics very low, it could cut out some extra material from screen.

I had cruisers in the group - so that would mean the group showws 11/11 even though there were less ships.

Yeah the numbers shown are command point totals rather than number of ships, confused me a little initially too, and even now I am sometimes suprised when I attack a fleet labelled as '4' only to find one big ship :P.
