I was reading another thread about constellations and I thought hell what about nebulas this would add more strategy to the game because they could have random effects IE: Senors, weapons , etc. This would be really helpful if your weaker than your enemy.

Having system based effects might be interesting yes.

Certain systems being within gas clouds and the like that rule out certain tactics or playing cards.

Or maybe there being multiple spacial anomalies for you to choose when defending to position your fleet in so that you get to choose what ground you fight on to suit you.

I like the idea.

Nebulas could be the reason for less sensor effectivity or positive/negative effects on systems. Further they could add some eyecandy to the galaxy-map
