Currently when the multiplayer timer counts down to zero and should then transition the game to the next turn if a player is in combat it will not and none of the players will know that the player is in combat. Usually they will do a roll call in chat to see if everyone is there which will then lead to the player in combat not seeing the chat, not responding to the chat, and therefore be seen as DC. Which then leads to people leaving the game however that could be prevented if a simple notification occured saying that the game was processing a battle, not who was in the battle, not who won, just that a battle is occuring.
