[Composite suggestion] More Pirates Options and A few suggestions

I've been playing this alpha non-stop since thursday and this game is what i've waited for since MoO.



I've been immersing myself in this so much, that the good qualities really are open to me. And though it may seem minimal compared to the good/godly traits of this game, there are but a few issue-fixes and suggestions i feel would truly make this game amazing. (note, the suggestions are just that, and if developement is too far in then forget i asked)



Pirates: Pirates are a great idea and I'm very happy they were thought of. Now, i love smashing some pirates as much as the next guy, possibly more, but to make this a more idea more flexible for gameplay, i feel that there should be more options on pirate difficulty. I've played mostly with the Sophon and the Hissho, but mostly with the Sophon, and i have run into trouble with pirates every time. the Sophons are based on science, and i try to throw in some exploration tech too, but i end up having to scramble for military tech when a 3rd edition pirate fleet comes outa nowhere. sure, i get some kinetic weapons, some armor, maybe a missile or 2, and i slap around the first few pirates, but they grow in level far too quickly for my science nerds to handle and actually end up becoming a rain on my parade. I'm far from just whining about not getting everything i wanted, but this issue would actually be a big inhibitor to the "freedom of gameplay" concept. I only suggest adding either some more pirate difficulty settings (there are already 3, though "normal" feels like "hard") or any other idea someone can come up with that would work so i dont have to always add so much military tech.



SUGGESTION: Ok, so the pirates were my only big "issue" with Endless Space. As a suggestion, unless we're too far into alpha, is to add the possibility of going to another random, much smaller galaxy (maybe more than one) next to the player's starting one, and have something along the lines of wormholes allow access to it, after acquiring the right tech. I thought a good example to show my thoughts would be like the planes Terran and Myrran of Master of Magic (how they made the world 2x as big). the other galaxy(ies) shouldnt be nearly as big as the original one, but doing this would make the game feel so so much bigger, making it feel more "Endless". I thought long and hard about asking about this, and, as a veteran of 4x and beyond strategy games I think this would be a great feature. And, like i said, if we're too far in than don't mind me, or maybe add it later. Think about it.

FAQs say there are known issues with pirates which are being fixed; their current state is not representative of release
