A couple of gameplay-related questions.

I'd be much obliged if someone would answer a couple of questions.



First, what are the "Command Points"? I came across this term in the description of the saboteur hero ability (unlocks after master hacker).



Second, what is ship xp? I managed to have a monopoly of a rare resource and every now and then i got a pop-up about how my fleets received a +% in xp. Do fleets actually level up?



Can ships with no S2G (invasion) weapons actually invade? What is the optimal way to make an invasion ship? I used only S2G weapons (support modules) and +% invasion effectiveness modules. Is that correct?



And finally the "Impervious Gear" research (weapon tree, the one with the glass of wine as its icon) gives only a 4% increase in invasion effectiveness, while it costs more than its previous tech; a research that gives +10% in invasion effectiveness.



I assume that "Impervious Gear" gives a +14% increase. Is that so? Does the tech actually work (that would imply that the tooltip is wrong) or is it bugged for now?

Command points is the number of ships you can assign to a fleet.

Ship xp, I dunno.

Ships with no invasion module can invade.

Would you also happen to know what the optimal way to build an invasion-specific ship is?



I used only +invasion modules (support) in mine. I didn't use any weapon modules on them. I kept moving them around with an Annihilator (on a different fleet) and i noticed that i was able to siege pretty quick (3-4 turns).



Was it the Annihilator that was doing the job or did the +inv-only ships work as well?

How do you increase command points? The AI can get like 8 ships or more per fleet and im only stuck with 2 or 3.

This isn't entirely correct since some ship types take up more than 1 command point. For instance, Cruisers and Battleships are 2 CMD, Dreadnaughts are 4 CMD.

Ship XP means you get that much bonus xp for a hero commanding a fleet who wins a victory in that star system. I believe. If you don't have combats in that system, it won't have any use, nor will it if you don't have a hero commanding there

No, ship XP is actually a HP buff of hitherto unknown proportions to the ship itself per level.
