is it possible to upgrade our already built (and sent into space) ships? How?

And is it possible to modify our ships, for example dismantle some weapon mods and put new ones instead?

In the military screen you can pick ships from fleets and upgrade them to a new variant by paying Dust. So if you build a Destroyer 2 you can upgrade your destroyers to the 2 variant.

To modify the ships just go into the military view, select the design you want to modify it the upper right corner and click the Modify button at the bottom.



Once you're done just click on the fleet list and choose Retrofit to upgrade it to the new design.

Click the button in the upper left corner that looks like a ship. Here you can select excising and researched ship models that you can build, or modify.

If you modify a ship, so it have better armor or weapons, you can sent it back to a system you own and select "Retrofit", in the ship/fleet menu. This will cost some dust, but it will upgrade it to the newer version.

Go to the fleet menu (little icon left top corner that looks like a ship). It will list your fleets, you can select your fleet and as long as it is in a home system there is a visible icon bottom middle left side of the screen that says retrofit or refit or something and a price in dust to upgrade your ships to whatever upgraded mark you have made.



It is kinda expensive. Right now, to upgrade my full 13 ship fleet (3 Battleships/Crusiders, 7 Destroyers) can cost around 2500 dust. Wish it wasn't that much but I got the economy that can redo a fleet in about 4 turns or so. However I got 4 fleets out and about right now. Would personally like an option to put the ships back into building queue to rebuild them with the new equipment. Since they are already built you would just be rebuilding the new equipment so it would be discounted build time. Would be a bit slower but an option when you don't have dust.
