Hi, i just picked up this game yesterday. I have a couple of questions, and im looking for solid + definitive answers. Hopefully you can help me.

1. After i conquer an enemy colony, my approval for that colony is super low due to a low ownership %. How do i increase ownership % faster?

2. What is "+1 fleet spying on system"? (Its from a system improvement called collaborative networks"

3. How come AI ships can move into my influence area? They shouldnt, i thought it was the function of influence?

Increase the happiness of the system by buying the upgrades that give you thumbs up in that system, by lowering tax rates or putting a hero in that system. You can also build the improvements that increase recovery from invasion.

2. What is "+1 fleet spying on system"? (Its from a system improvement called collaborative networks"

I have no idea

3. How come AI ships can move into my influence area? They shouldnt, i thought it was the function of influence?

This is a known bug, and I think is fixed in the latest update, that was released today, but I'm not sure, I have yet to play it.

question #1 again:

aside from the approval improvements and lowering tax rates,

1. does putting a hero in the system really increase approval?

2. i thought the recovery from invasion structure was to increase the recovery of invasion defense? which is a seperate value from ownership % / approval? please clarify. (i do not think ownership and invasion defense are the samething)

Some heroes have a bonus to system happiness. Other heroes will have no effect.

It isn't clear to me either, what is the difference between invasion recovery and happiness recovery. I *believe* that invasion recovery has to do with how fast your defenses come back on your own system. If an enemy sieges for a few turns, and then is chased off, your defenses will be damaged. These improvements speed that recovery.

1. Time (or as other said you can increase happyness and defense recovery to speed it up)

1b. Putting a hero there that has "ministry of propaganda" will help with happiness

2. I believe it means enemy fleet can see less into your system, think of it as the counter to scout bino seeing numbers, only against the enemy bino's.

3. In .30 you can now use the "defend" fleet action\assignment to prevent some of this.

my other thread has been closed and this is close to the subject

Once built the improvements is 'always on' unless scrapped?

This still does not explain the bracketed (8 turns) when clicked on when in the improvement side (right, same as hanger)

You cannot "turn off" an improvement except by scrapping it. Can you post a screenshot of the bracketed 8 turns on the right side?

Only if that hero has happiness improvements, should have said that.

You're probably right, but I usually end up building them anyway.

Ok, i think i got what i needed from the answers. thanks!

now for a new question: Battle Action Cards

for example, if a card says:

Defense

+40% efficiency on anti-missile (block +10%)

-20% kinetics damage (+20 block)

What does that mean? if...

+40% eff. anti-missile = 40% increase to flak

block +10% = ???

-20% kinetics damage = ??? (my own kinetics weapon or the enemies?)

block +20% = ???

You know, I'd like to know what some of the cards mean as well, I generally only end up using +25% weapon damage and the heal one, some of the reason being I have no idea what some of the cards do.
