The battle report timer (the little blue clock with the phases under in your battlescreen)

seems to skip a couple of phases if a battle is won before these are all played out.

It does always display the last bit of the last phase tough.

This seems to indicate that these battlephases did actually happen.

I don't think that any cards you picked for these skipped battlephases are actually played.

Well, that's actually my question. Do they?

You don't seem to pay for them and they don't seem to gain you anything (refill of HP is you play engineering for example).

If this is true, my suggestion would be to make this clearer.

Maybe just stop the battletimer right in the phase where the last ship explodes.

And then grey out the battlecards you did select but weren't actually used. Or something like that.

If you play nano-repair bots in the third phase, but you win in the first phase, you do receive the benefit. It's a well known "exploit" (that is, coming out of a battle with more hitpoints than you went in with)

So... does that mean all cards you pick are actually activated?

And you need to pay for them as well?

I did noticed the bots at work in the final battle report, but never noted an actual difference in HP.

Hmmz need to adjust ratio reading through forum vs actually playing the game smiley: stickouttongue

Probably.

It's because the HP is granted at the beginning of the phase when the card is played. It's actually useless in phase 2 (the first combat phase) unless you started with damaged ships.

Wouldn't it better for the cards like HP repair from engineering to be more of a heal over time effect for the entirety of the phase? No increase in healing done but simply more realistic and possibly better strategically with less exploitive potential.

Probably. That's what it was when I first saw it.
