Hello all, I've been playing the game for about a week now and have been unable to find the answer to a few questions. I was wondering if any of you could spare a moment to help me out!



1) How exactly do I make an offering of peace? The FAQ said I needed a certain tech. I researched that tech but was still unable to make a peace offering with both my friend and the AI. I made sure that I had "Found" that specific civilization too. The only option in the menu was to declare war.



2) How can I cancel queued orders?



3) Is there a listing as to what each technology does?



4) When teaching new players the game, which race would you recommend and do you all have any tips for early game? This includes what to upgrade ASAP and what to look for in planets.



5) Are there any real benefits to allying the AI? Or is it better just to eradicate them?

1. Research Relativistic Economics, in the west tree. Please note the cravers race cannot use any diplomacy, that may be why it was missing for you.

2. Not sure what type of order you mean. Movement: click on another star. Note you cannot give orders to ships in a thread, so they will travel to the next star on the route anyway. Production: click on the item to remove it. Research: you can only add onto the queue with shift-left-click, or start over with left-click.

3. Zoom in on the tech in the tech tree. Then you can hover over the tech, or hover over the items inside the tech, to learn more.

4. There are a few early game strategy threads in the strategy sub-forum.

5. I usually wind up with one AI ally and we eliminate all the other races, but it takes forever to win a diplomacy victory. So it may be quicker to eliminate them all. I hope this will be rebalanced in a new release.
