Enemy Fleets still pass through defended star systems?

Right, quit playing in Alpha because I would block off a route to my next star system but the enemy fleet would still pass through. I read that was a bug.

Yet, it is still happening? Granted, this fleet was not an enemy fleet, it was first contact. They proceeded to explore my entire empire even though I had ships stationed at various places. What gives?

Fleets will not automatically stop enemy ships. You need to order your fleets to do so. Select a fleet and push the Intercept button (pictured below). After that, any enemy ships entering the system will not be allowed to leave.

Does this mean the tool-tip is wrong? Intercepting enemy fleets, which would be every fleet from a cold war or war status imho, means intercept by jumping in a system, not out. For me it feels like a bug that i use the intercept and incoming fleets dont get attacked, while i dont double checked the fact that outgoing fleets should be attacked. For me its pretty annoying that i have to check my whole frontlines on entering fleets, i want them crushed right after entering, not while leaving.

We really need an organized faq for this one. Every player is allowed to explore a system once. Intercept stops ships from leaving unless you are at peace. Regions of influence stop ships from entering unless you are at war.

Thanks davea...that clears up a question I had. I was wondering why my scout was able to travel the distance but later on I could not bring him home. I figured it was something simple enough smiley: redface

Also, I'm aware of open borders, but I was trying to keep the others out of my area for a bit.. did not want their lil' grubby alien hands on my systems. smiley: wink
