This may be a bug. But to be on the safe side, I thought I would ask here for clarification first. Might just be a rule I wasn't aware of.

If I have Warp travel capability, should I be able to force-warp to a system controlled by someone I am at war with?

I thought I could. But in my recent game (v1.0.5), I cannot. My Pilgrims have researched all the way to Advanced Warp Fields (+12 Warp). And yet, nothing happens when I CTRL-RightClick on an enemy system. I am at war with the United Empire and the Sophon, and neither can be warped to.

Also, it appears I cannot warp to my Ally's worlds either. But, I CAN warp to my own worlds.

Does this sound right?

Are you at "Full War"? (Actually declared war in diplomacy screen?)

Cold War does not allow you to enter enemy territory, you must declare full war to do so.

That's the only thing I can think of that it could be unless it's a bug!

Yes, we are at "full war." The diplomacy screen show that. Actually, they declared war on me.

So I am guessing that other players have been able to warp to enemy systems?

I don't think you can long-range warp travel, to stop you going straight for the home world.

you can actually warp pretty far, in a previous game i warped a fleet to the end of a spiral arm from the center because a neutral faction had blocked all other access with his influence.

i dont think you can actually define a warp path though. i think the game only uses it if it determines it is the best course to move to a system.

A warp travel path will be selected by the game only if it is the shortest of a part of the shortest route to your destination. Currently I am unaware of any way to force warp travel.

It appears distance is not an issue. At least, not in this case. I was able to force-warp between 2 of my worlds that were half a galaxy away from each other. But enemy worlds a mere two lanes away could not be force-warped to.

You can if you have warp technology (ie, the green arrow). Select a fleet and CTRL-RightClick on the destination. It will force the fleet to warp directly there.

EDIT: Now Endless Space is making me a liar. I thought I had a savegame to prove this behavior. But I just went back to it and now I CAN force-warp to enemy worlds. Argh!

But this is the FAQ section and not Tech Support. So I will answer my own question. Yes Prophet, you can warp to enemy worlds. Now stop talking in the third person and go kick some Sophon butt!
