I see everyone talking about customizing their fleet specifications via modules that are gained from unlocking abilities via the technology tree. I might just be blind or dumb but I cannot seem to see any buttons and/or menus that allow me to modify my ship designs, such as weapons, armor, tonnage, etc. I unlock a slew of technologies in the tree and yet I only produce the same stock ships when building.



Can anyone please point out for me where and how one goes about applying upgrades to a ship?

Up at the top of the screen there is the row of circular buttons. Click the one that looks like a ship and has the blue outline. On the right hand side at the top is the interface to manage your hull designs.

I can't believe I never saw that before until you just pointed it out! I toiled for like 2 days, searching the forums and various websites trying to find out how to do this. Thank you so much!

It may also be helpful to read the player written tutorial linked below in my sig, which shows this. The game file itself will hopefully be updated to version 1.0 soon, but the screenshots will show you how to do this.
