Is there a way to cancel research? I've accidentally hit a research program that linked five things to it. Now I can't figure out how to cancel this set program to something I really should do first.



I got the answer: Left click on the other research you want. This cancels the whole queue.



This, however, does not work. It just queues this new tech behind what I want to cancel in the first place.

Make sure you are not holding down shift. Caps lock might do the same... A left click (without shift) on any unresearched technology should always clear the queue of all but that tech.

It should work. Left click selects the tech you want to research. You can't research a tier 2 tech if you haven't researched the tier 1 techs linked to it. That's why clicking on a tier 2 techs auto-queues the chain of techs you need to research prior to researching that tier 2 tech. And the Shift + Left click combination I assume you are familiar with.
