Hi, I have a question:

What conditions require to purchase star system through diplomacy without a war?

I have good relations with a faction (no alliance) but all star systems in the agreement tab are inactive (I need one of them so muchsmiley: smile).

There's probably a tech on the left tree you need, but be advised, the AI REALLY doesn't like giving away star systems. The only way I've ever managed to get one to consider it was as a peace bribe while I was beating the stuffing out of it.

I've only gotten them to agree to it during war, which is actually a big improvement over other space 4x games where they AI just won't give them up, ever, no matter what. GalCiv2 comes to mind.

I agree, but that much is at least good imo. I was about to kill this one AI when he offered me a cease fire that included one of his last remaining systems. I was stunned that they would actually consider a way to not die, that I agreedsmiley: smile
