No. It's possible to completely research the next tech in the queue if you have enough leftover points after the first one is done, but like virtually every other 4x game out there, research is singular.

You can queue up additional research items by holding down shift.



Also, you can complete research on multiple items in a single turn if your research output is high enough. For example, if you have 100 research coming per turn and the next two technologies in the queue each cost 50 or less, you will complete both in a single turn.

While we're here: Taliesyn, do you know if leftover research points are kept in memory if there was no queued tech to give them to? I never think about looking at that while in-game, I just maniacally always queue a tech or two just in case these points are going to get lost... smiley: rollsweat

After a quick test of advancing research with and without a queue, it looks like it holds onto your overflow scientific output. After you select a new research topic, you can see that progress has already been made due to the overflow.

You can carry forward exactly one turn's production of research points. Anything above that is lost.



(As a side note, each system can also carry forward one turn's worth of industry. Just FYI.)
