Hello

Just bought the game, playing a "quick" game on a large 4 arms galaxy (4 players : 2 Amoeba, 1 Pilgrim, and me, with a human specie specialised in tech production fleets, with little to no weaknesses - but no "big" advantages either).

First impression : the game is good, even if I am not fond of the combat system with those cards you have to play very quickly (I didn't even have the time to play a card during my first battle...).

What I want to talk about is the...hum...incredible skill of the AI regarding diplomacy.

First offer : "Give us 5 Hyperium, for nothing". Well...no. If you want some, pay.

Second offer : "Give us 9 of these and 5 of those, and we could maybe sign a treaty and be allies !" Well, I agree to be allied with you, but I won't give you those resources, which are so strategic.

Then, a bit later, I started to bump out fleets of 18 CP, 25k MP after a quick refit (without leader). And one of the Amoeba, who was being destroyed by the Pilgrim :

"Hey, you're now too powerful, I declare war."...Well...ok, I just finished my refit and my 16 fleets are ready...Are you sure ? you don't want to discuss ?

So I doomed them. And I had an ally (who eventually ask for a free alliance)...So 3 players against an already defeated empire.

Sometimes, I found the AI very tough (incredible production and research), but sometimes, I found it ... stupid...

No wonder, the AI gets (not only) financial bonuses with each level difficulty. That does not change the diplomatic functions.

These offers without payment might sound stupid, but they increase your "reputation" among the faction - or am i wrong?

They do, I usually accept them. I play very diplomatic games with no war.

So, the best way to increase reputation is to give up everything you have? Wow, that makes no sense at all.

Yeah, I kind of wish there was a way to pause the game while thinking about what to choose.

They generally dont ask for everything. Maybe all of one item. And its often something with a useless bonus.
