Gameplay questions - Ships and fleets

Hey



I have played this great game for a couple of days now but there are some things about the ships and the fleets that remains a bit unclear.



1. Is the ukeep costs of a ship/fleet affected by being in a hangar? And/or is it affected by not being docked at a system or being outside of empires borders?



2. Is the ships repair rate affected by being in a hangar? And does system size/population have any effect on ship repair?



3. If you ignore science, are ship classes the same for all factions? For example, do Sophons Giga have the same MP/HP potential as the Cravers Predator?

I don't know about the first two, but all races do share the ship classes (with different names). Of course, some races have extra modifiers on top of those classes, such as the Cravers' -20% ship cost, and the Sheredyn's +40% ship HP.

For the second question: As far as I know each ship got a fixed repair rate when it's in an own system and not being moved. No effects of industry or hangar.

Thx for the answers of these pretty tough questions guys :P



I have tried putting fleets in and out of hangars without any difference in Dust income so, like the repair rate, it looks like it will stay the same regardless where the ships are at (inside your system that is).



I guess i will experiment a little more myself and post back if i find anything interesting.

1. nope, costs are fixed

2. You repair at a fixed rate while in a friendly system, doesn't matter if you are in a hangar or not.

3. The base stats of the shipclasses are identical accross all factions.

Anyone know if pirate ships spawn in uncolonized systems that are inside your borders? Pretty annoying if thats the case :P

Yes sir they do. I just had the case, where they entered my empire by moving to an uncolonised system under my influence, and made their way up to colonized systems. So yes they do... I guess they used a tech to travel without route though, because they entered my empire on a dead end (that I thought was protected) and moved up their way.

I'm pretty sure the pirates get the warp drive tech pretty early; I know for a fact they can use it because I've seen them make use of the warp drives before.
