Hello, i am new to this game bought it 3 days ago and i think its awesome, have over 40 hours played ! But i still haven't figured out how after 60-70 turns enemy has 8-9 ships fleet that do 3100 dmg while i can hardly have 3-4 ships with my Cravers... (which have +2 fleet space), please help me! How can i improve the fleet space for my fleets? I have looked in the tech tree and for what i have seen i can't improve the space... I play on normal difficulty and i always finish last in the score no matter how much i try and do everything correctly.

Can someone please give me some advice? How to start up properly? I've read some guides aswell and i am starting with food production on 1 system, then industry on another system, i expand fairly fast and have 2 system by turn 60! Then i start building ships really fast, upgrade them with 10 shield (250hp), 8 or 10 missiles, and some kinectic!

What am i doing wrong?

I would like to thank Endless Space team for being awesome developpers aswell and make a 'space game' (i dont really like space games in general), that keeps my attention and makes me passionate about it.

All fleets have a "fleet cap" or "CP cap". A destroyer counts as 1 CP, cruiser as 2, dreadnought as 4. Some techs in the west side of the tech tree increase your CP cap, if you zoom in and read the descriptions you will find them. As cravers you can initially have 7 CP, so 7 destroyers or scouts.

The sentence "I expand fairly fast and have 2 systems by turn 60" is interesting. For myself, I expand fairly fast and have 7 systems by turn 30, with population about 25-30. Perhaps you can expand faster. Check your systems happiness (they should be "ecstatic") and make sure you are building colony ships. You should only colonize tier 1 (ocean, terran, jungle) or tier 2 planets (tundra, arid) at first, unless you really cannot find any. Check the strategy guide forums below and look for other posts with "noob" in the title.

Thanks for the answer, i tried to expand faster but population happiness went down and i had a dust shortage :/! I will look into the newbie section thoroughly then.

As davea said, your "fast expansion" is really pretty slow in retrospect. As a Craver player, I can sometimes have 10-12 systems within the first 20-30 turns, depending on how lucky I am with my surrounding systems.

You should also try to keep all of your colonies happy or ecstatic, as this gives them food, industry, and science boosts (it decreases dust income though). Food boosts population and increases the FIDS production on a system, Industry lets you build ships faster, Science lets you research ships faster.

When colonizing systems, try to colonize systems with high Food outputs first (planet anomalies and resources can boost Food output, so pay attention to those too). The higher the food output, the faster the population growth, and the larger your population, the faster you can produce new ships and system structures.

Just keep practicing, you'll get the hang of it!

EDIT: Also, as the Cravers, you have an early advantage in Dust income because you can colonize Arid planets, so use that to your advantage when you can (which will help you keep systems happy while still having an overall profit on Dust)

Hah great guys, i now am at turn 115 and have 9 systems (i develop slower but i can defend my system pretty well now) Have 7/7 fleets, with 1400+ dmg and flacks and no one can beat me, even the 2000 dmg fleets!

I enjoy this alot more and hope i get better... This is the first time i play a futuristic 4x game (played civ 5 before)!
