Hey everyone,



I just started playing Endless Space a few days ago and I'm loving it so far - I've taken a liking to custom races with the Sower affinity, but I'm still a bit perplexed as to the best planetary exploitation given the Sower affinity. Is it better to always go with industrial, even on Terran/Jungle worlds? What about dust and research? I'm trying to figure out the order of importance of the exploitation, and so far I've come up with the following - any input and/or suggestions would be appreciated!

Industrial on any planet with a bonus to food exploitation (Terran, Jungle, etc), as well as industrial planets. The negatives to food production make food exploitation impractical

Research on research-focused planet types (Ocean, Barren, etc)

Dust on dust-focused planet types (Arid, desert)

This looks simple on paper, but is this a good way to play races with a Sower affinity? What about resources and anomalies/planetary modifiers? Would a planet with very high food per population due to anomalies/modifiers be better suited to farming, despite the Sower affinity?

The Sowers have been my child of sorrows in this regard as well.



Not making any food in addition to what you get converted from industry has shown to be a bad idea as that drastically reduced their growth-rate.



I would say the best way would be:



Use Industry Exploit on any planet that does not have a food-bonus before Max-Pop is reached.

On Planets with a food bonus (but no industry bonus) use food (while still growing) nevertheless.

When max-Pop is reached you could turn the Ind-Producing-planets with no Ind-Bonus into whatever their bonus is.
