I was wondering what the condition is for the Population victory. I understand how population can be important but not how its a victory condition in and of itself.

Found this in the FAQ list

Question: What victory conditions are there going to be available?

Answer: Dust, Science, Population, Warfare, Building, King-of-the-hill, Best Score

Why is it listed in the victory conditions if there is none.

despite the fact that the "population victory" doesn't exist, it is listed in 2 factions their description.

I find this weird.

Its referring to expansion victory in those cases, which actually really doesnt depend on population at all, more military

Quite misleading indeed. I was wondering about that, too.
