What are some "goals" for certain turns?

Specifically for generic Sowers faction.



For instance, I try to colonize my second planet by turn three. From there I try to get access to nonbaryonic particles ASAP.



But what are some benchmarks? Because seriously it takes a LOT of turns to do anything so I'm having a hard time evaluating how well I play. Currently being a baby and practicing my play on newbie to get a feel for the game.



Also, for my ptimized sowers faction (basically turn one hero trick with strong growth potential if I understand it correctly) it feels weird not having tolerant so any tips there would be appreciated (or a way to add tolerant that doesn't feel like cheating).

Tolerant sucks. Don't get it.



Benchmarks depend on map settings as well as situation. If there are more good planets you'll obviously get it research faster. But also if there is more space and you have a choice of building science conversion or colonisers, build colonisers. Basically at the start its, exploitation/n-way fusion plant then explorers+colonisers. After all the arid/tundra and better planets are settled, consider then focus on building stuff like research buildings. So because of this, you want the non-baryonic particles tech ASAP after this point, and its useless before.
