Warp on turn 18?

So I was playing on Endless difficulty and saw the AI Warping near one of my systems.

Does the AI get free Warp at Endless difficulty? Tech bonus?

AFAIK, AI Difficulty level increases their FIDS. So having warp on turn 18 with the FIDS bonus is very much possible I think

If they beeline for it, it doesn't actually take that long to acquire.

Yes, and if you customize and play for it on a good location you will reach it faster too. I believe around turn 12-14 is possible.

Normal/Fast game speed I presume?

I've played a few games on slow today and it takes ~10 turns to get your first research done, never mind a 3rd tier research to get wormholes or tier 5 for warp. Am I just weird for being captain slow here? :P

Ok, thanks guys. I freaked out when I was still playing around with first and second-tier tech and the AI was warping around.

On the bright side, I won that game on Endless difficulty. My first!

The pilgrims have it as a second tier tech.

But it is also possibly that you can't see the sting they travel along, making it seem as if they travel via Warp.
