I was looking at the 'empire wide bonus factors' in the empire management screen, and it lists a "x5.5 expansion disapproval from game difficulty." Is 5.5 correct for hard difficulty? It seems disproportionate to the x1.3 overpopulation disapproval on the same difficulty level. I'm struggling this game with unhappiness (mostly due to the Sower affinity) and noticed this incidentally.

There are new techs in the terraforming/colonisation tree that reduce the expansion disapproval. I think its designed to slow down hyper expansion tactics untill you tech up a bit more. I found I quite liked the balance on hard, it made me need to juggle happiness and dust a lot more if I want to expand aggresively but still possible to do.
